Our food pantry is one of my favorite things that we do for the community! This has become a mission project for the homeless, and their way of giving back and being used by God to be His hands & feet. They organize it, unload the Second Harvest Food Truck, put in bags, and hand out to low income housing residents. We pray with recipients, and even deliver some door to door. They get to experience the joy of doing God's work, and realize the gifts that God has given each of them. Most of them are so beaten down spiritually, they don't see their worth. However, when we start focusing on meeting someone else's needs instead of our own, something powerful happens! God shows up, and strengthens us, fills us with joy, peace, and reminds us that through Him all things are possible. He wants to use us now, not necessarily when we have our act together! If we turn to Him now and allow Him to work through us, our heart starts to change. Transformation is a process, and through prayer, bible study, and service, He can change us from a caterpillar to a beautiful butterfly where we can soar to amazing heights! Please partner with us by funding the $400 price for a half a truck, or by bringing lunch to feed the volunteers (approx. 25), or just by volunteering and working with the homeless that day!
